DEFINITION

Cancerworld.org groups websites representing associations whose aims are the
advancement of the science, and the understanding and care of patients in oncology.
The portal brings together doctors, nurses, other health professionals and patients in the
fight against cancer in both the developed and emerging worlds and provides the end
Internet user with a comprehensive range of information and perspectives.

The purposes of the portal are:

• to foster the associations’ presence in the Internet,
• to offer the users valuable and updated information,
• provide the means for the associations’ co-operation by exchanging information
  on their Internet presence and projects.
  

Each partner association is represented in the portal with a website describing and providing information relating to the organisation, its structure, news, research projects, activities, membership, resource information, selected links, etc.
